Every Desktop Design Has To Go Finger-Friendly
TOUCH HAS LANDED ON THE DESKTOP. A whole new category of touch devices is flooding the consumer market in coordination with the release of Windows 8: touchscreen laptops and tablet/keyboard combos. These new hybrid combinations of touch and keyboard create a new ergonomic environment... and fresh demands on designers.

Phone size comparison
Show the actual size of a phone on your screen! Adjust the settings in the top bar so they match your monitor (try to be as precise as possible). You can use offset to increase or decrease the size of all the phones. To add a phone, simply select one from the selection box and to remove it, click the remove button underneath it. When you hit "Toggle Screens", every phone will show the same picture, cropped to the resolution of the screen. More candy = higher resolution
Phone Size - Phone size comparison made easy!

Fingerprints on touch interface as interaction pattern
Because the primary input method of the iPad is a single piece of multitouch glass, developers have incredible flexibility to design unique user interfaces. It’s hard to appreciate the variety of UIs though, since turning the screen off removes virtually all evidence of them. To spotlight these differences, I looked at the only fragments that remain from using an app: fingerprints.

Editions Volumiques
Here are the first pieces of les évolutions dynamiques following research on both volume and interactivity, playfully mixing paper and computation. By allowing interactivity and gameplay in the page (for example with the Duckette project) or between the pages (in The book that turns its own pages, or Labyrinthe), we try to bring new life to paper. We then pushed physical behavior to paper and ink (the book that disapears). There, the paper is no longer only the frame for representation, but at the same time the field of a real physical experience. We also played with the volume and perspective of book and content (paradoxales, Meeting-Zombies). And then, we tried to combine paper with this little computer-object almost of us all carry everywhere: our cell phone (the night of the living dead pixels, (i) pirates).

WePad Interface Demo
Sorry, best off:
Bottom Up vs. Top Down.
Mehr dazu bei auch bei Gerrit.

Touchscreen-Designing with finger paints
Touchscreen interfaces would be easier to use if we designed them with finger paints. We stop “designing” this way the day we graduate from kindergarten, but think about it. Can you be sure a button will be large enough for a user to push? Will her hand cover up anything important? We wouldn’t need to ask questions like these if we had designed the touchscreen with finger paints. It would be self-evident.
