Das Internet wird zum immer-und-überall-dabei-Netz: Inzwischen nutzt jeder Fünfte das Internet bereits mobil. Weitere 13 % planen in die mobile Internet-Nutzung einzusteigen und weitere 25 % zeigen Interesse, das World Wide Web auch unterwegs zu nutzen. Bei Frauen kommt das mobile Web allerdings nicht so gut an: Nur 15 % nutzen das Internet derzeit mobil. Und 41 % halten das mobile Netz sogar für uninteressant (siehe Grafik 1).

URLs will be an Anachronism

After playing with Google’s Chrome browser for the last few days, I noticed the “Address” bar, which is just called a “Omnibox” (corrected from just “box” via comments) is really a search field. Anything entered into it will deliver a webpage (it first looks at your historical activities) or renders Google search results (or search of your preference, including twitter search). As a result, it’s become apparently that I no longer need to enter in URLs to my browser for 99% of all tasks.

Google's new Chrome browser is for PCs today, but company co-founder Sergey Brin expects the technology will make its way to Android, the company's mobile phone operating system and software suite.
Chrome and Android were developed largely separately, Brin said in an interview at the Chrome launch event Tuesday. 'We have not wanted to bind one's hands to the other's,' Brin said. But you can expect that to change now that both projects are public and nearing their first final releases.

'Probably a subsequent version of Android is going to pick up a lot of the Chrome stack,' Brin said, pointing to JavaScript improvements as one area.

And the brand name likely will follow. 'My guess is we'll have 'Chrome-like' or something similar,' he said.
Chrome and Android's current browser both already employ WebKit, an open-source project for the process of interpreting the HTML code that makes up a Web page and rendering it on a screen."

IPTV Explained

IPTV, essentially, has two components:

Part 1:
Internet Protocol (IP): specifies the format of packets and the addressing scheme for a network. Most networks combine IP with a higher-level protocol.

Depending on the vendor solution, user datagram protocol (UDP) is the most typical higher-level protocol. The protocol establishes a virtual connection between a destination and a source. IP allows you to address a package of information and drop it in the system, but there's no direct link between you and the recipient.

Part 2:
Television (TV): specifies the medium of communication that operates through the transmission of pictures and sounds. We all know TV, but here we are referring to the services that are offered for the TV, like linear and on-demand programming.
